Game Highlights has no accounts, no advertising, no third-party trackers and no tracking across other apps or websites. It asks for no name, email address, phone number or location, and nothing here is sold or shared with anyone.

We do count how the app is being used — how many games were played, in which sport, and how many were filmed. Those counts are worked out on our own server from the records below. No analytics service is involved and nothing is sent anywhere.

What is recorded, and for how long

WhatWhyKept
Video and audio of the matchHighlights are cut from itA few hours, then deleted automatically. It is kept only long enough to cut the highlights out of.
Highlight clipsThe point of the app7 days, then deleted automatically
Player names, scores and the record of each pointThe scoreboard, the result, and per-player highlightsKept, so a results link still works once the video has gone
A random identifier for each installSo an install that publishes prohibited content can be blocked, and so we can tell how many installs are playing rather than how many gamesWhich games it started is erased after 7 days, with the video. If the install is blocked, the identifier itself is kept, or the block would not survive.

Player names are whatever the person scoring types in. They can be first names, initials or nicknames — the app does not check and does not need real ones.

Who can see it

There is no feed and no browsing. A game can only be opened by someone holding its 4-digit code or its results link. Results pages are marked noindex, so search engines do not list them — but a link, once sent, can be forwarded by whoever receives it. Share one only with people you would show the video to.

Nothing is sold. Nothing is shared with advertisers or analytics providers.

Consent to being filmed

Whoever films is responsible for having the agreement of the people on court, and of a parent or guardian for anyone under 18. That is a condition of using the app.

Deleting your data

The device that started a game can delete it outright, video files included. Anyone else can email project44231@gmail.com with the game link or 4-digit code and it will be removed. Video deletes itself after seven days either way.

Children

Game Highlights is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them. Junior matches do get played, which is why consent from a parent or guardian is required before filming.
